Drew Sloan, PhD

Drew Sloan is one of the co-founders and the current CEO of Vulintus. He has an BS in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D in biomedical engineering, with a doctorate focusing on auditory neuroscience and brain-machine interfaces. With co-founder Rob Rennaker, he started Vulintus while doing postdoctoral research on vagus nerve stimulation therapies for stroke, developing our first product, MotoTrak, to automate and improve rodent forelimb assessments.

David Pruitt, PhD

David earned his BS in computer science from Brigham Young University, after which he worked in industry for 2 years at National Instruments. He returned to school at The University of Texas at Dallas to complete a PhD in neuroscience. His PhD work focused on using vagus nerve stimulation to enhance recovery of motor function in models of traumatic brain injury and stroke. Since completing his PhD, David has worked with Vulintus as the lead software developer for Vulintus’ MotoTrak and HabiTrak systems.

Camilo Sanchez, PhD

Camilo is a research engineer with a BS in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington and a MS in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas at Southwestern Medical Center. Following his academic experience, he regulated the fabrication of pharmaceuticals at Alcon. After two years of corporate experience, Camilo returned to the academic world to continue research in neuroscience and engineering. His Ph.D work spanned from designing and testing an electrode for targeted stimulation of the cervical vagus nerve to the characterization of genetically engineered rodents for validation of vagus nerve stimulation therapy for central neurodegenerative diseases. Since obtaining his Ph.D from The University of Texas at Dallas in Biomedical Engineering, he has been at Vulintus helping develop new tools to accelerate the pace of biomedical research.

Jeremy Turner

Jeremy Turner is Vulintus’ dedicated manufacturing and assembly technician. He started his education in Aviation maintenance before moving on to pursue more artistic pursuits. He works closely with our partnering labs to make sure they have the hardware and technical support they need. He also helps to design and prototype new modules for customers interested in custom behaviors.

Robert L Rennaker, PhD

Rob Rennaker is a co-founder of Vulintus and served as CEO from 2010 to 2018. He’s since co-founded several more companies to pursue translation of vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) devices into the clinic. In addition to serving as Vulintus’ board chairman, he splits his time as Chief Executive Officer of XNerve Medical, Inc., Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Texas at Dallas, ad Vice President for Engineering and Innovation at Konan Medical USA.
